Top 5 Brunch drinks and cocktails
Brunch is one of my favorite meals. But a Champagne Brunch is the best meal of the week. There are plenty of other drinks, beside Champagne, to choose from. Here’s my top 5 list of classic brunch cocktails. Cheers!
Bloody Mary
The Bloody Mary is a time honored brunch classic. Its great for curing hangovers and goes well with most brunch foods. You can spice it to your own liking by varying the amount of tabasco sauce.
- 3 parts tomato juice
- 1 part vodka
- 1 part lemon juice
- Dash of tabasco sauce
- celery salt
- ground pepper
- Garnish with a celery stalk and lime wedge
Mimosa
Part Champagne, part freshly squeezed orange juice – the Mimosa is a simple and elegant brunch cocktail.
- Half a glass of Champagne or Sparkling Wine
- Half a glass of freshly squeeze orange juice
- Serve is a chilled champagne flute
- Garnish with an orange slice
Screwdriver
The Screwdriver is a favorite brunch cocktail. It’s easy to make, refreshing, and goes well with most foods. The freshly squeezed orange juice will help you with your daily vitamin C fix to boot. Win-win right?
- 1 part vodka
- 6 parts freshly squeezed orange juice
Bellini
- A table spoon or 2 of peach puree or nectar at the bottom of the Champagne flute
- Slow top with chilled Prosecco
Irish Coffee
- 3 parts strong black coffee
- 1 part Irish Whiskey
- 1 part whipped cream on top
- 1 tea spoon of brown sugar

Bellinis are delicious when real nectar is used. Some places try to get away with flavoring, which is disgusting.
Mmmm, and a fresh mimosa, yum!
